In 2014, Financial Planning Services established an employee driven charitable giving program, setting aside a percentage of the company income each year for this program. Annually, each employee nominates their favorite charity to receive a portion of the funds. Previous charities have included The Shoe That Grows, the Calcutta Bible Institute, Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control, and Big Brothers Big Sisters.
For the 2016 Christmas season, Financial Planning Services has donated $11,000 to the following organizations:
- The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention
- Doctors Without Borders
- Enactus (a student business organization at Olivet Nazarene University)
- Frontline Ministries, which assists single mothers and struggling families in the community
- Huntington University
- The Little Flock in northern India, a missionary outreach group
- Youth For Christ
This brings the total given charities since the start of the program to nearly $25,000. We hope to expand the practice in future years, and we thank all of our clients for being a part of this ongoing outreach to our community.
